REDESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION FOR THE KEY ANNUAL FUNDRAISER THE CELEBRITY SHOE AUCTION PAGE FOR SMALL STEPS PROJECT CHARITY

I redesigned the destination page for Small Steps Project’s incredible annual celebrity shoe auction, introducing more energy, calls to action, community building, people friendly UX, more visual, more graphics, parallax peeps into their clients groups and impacts.

A visual feast more reflective of the glamour and fun of this event, as well as getting across the point of it all.

It was a challenge to find the right tone and mix for juxtaposing the issues facing the project’s client groups and the glamour and let’s face it, consumerism of celebrities and designers shoes. But I got there and felt comfortable with how it came out.

Their original website was ten years old and was neither serving their organisational objectives nor reflecting the incredible work they had achieved over the past decade.

The initial brief was for me to work with them to develop a Scope. This is a fully detailed brief containing every single aspect of their new website.

Through the Scope process, they were able to work through exactly what they wanted, being well advised and offered appropriate options, and having their ideal solutions designed for them.

By the end they had an expert-authored brief in the right language for developers and agencies to know exactly what they meant, and therefore quote accurately.

They shopped around for a delivery partner and a price they felt comfortable with.

After getting a variety of quotes from other service providers, they chose me to implement the work for them.

They had the opportunity to see if we were a good fit during the Scope process, and had confirmed to themselves that they were able and happy to work within my rates.

This project is currently in delivery phase, but I can show you a live page as there has been a phased delivery in order for them to service their biggest fundraiser of the year, The Small Steps Project Celebrity Shoe Auction.

FEEDBACK

As well as a being Trustee, and Chair of the Board of Directors for Small Steps Project, I have over ten years experience of working as a front end web developer with various agencies and for high profile clients including the BBC, Estée Lauder, IPSO and CFAUK.

In all that time I don’t recall ever having been involved in so thorough, detailed, and all encompassing a scope process.

Lucy’s ability to absorb and collate the complex history and aspirations of our organisation surpassed all expectations.

The workshop style consultation process enabled her to cut to the electric heart of what we do as an organisation, and what we want to achieve with the new website.

The result was an astonishingly rich and nuanced understanding of our requirements and a scope that reflected that high level of comprehension.

In fact, two of the agencies we then asked to tender for the work both concurred that the scope was the best they’d ever seen and enabled them to quote for the work confidently, comprehensively, and competitively.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Lucy Granville for her scope service to any prospective client.
